Sira Spotlight: Extractions Manager, Tom Steckbeck
Posted by Jane Abbott

The Sira Spotlight series focuses on one of the most interesting aspects of Sira Naturals: our people. Each month, we’ll be highlighting members of our staff from across the entire organization.

We at Sira Naturals like to reflect upon the hard work and dedication of our amazing staff. The Sira Scoop Team sat down with the Manager of our Extractions department , Tom Steckbeck, to hear his story and learn about his role in shaping the extractions program.

What is your role at Sira and how long have you been a part of the team?

I’ve been working at Sira for 4.5 years, and I’ve been in my current role as Extractions manager for 2 years.

What is your favorite part of running Sira’s Extractions program?

Getting to work with our own internal material. We can get a really good sense of what each strain is best used for. I’m always impressed with the quality of the oil we make with it, whether it's shatter, wax, or rosin.

What sets Sira’s Extraction program apart from the rest?

To me, the passion of the team is one of the biggest things that separates our program. All the team members really care about the product and are constantly developing new products or improving the ones we currently make.

What is your favorite Sira Extractions product?

Either the wax or the live rosin.

What projects are you looking forward to working on in the future?

Currently, planning the new lab layout has been an amazing project, and something I had been looking forward to doing for a long time. The new lab will have a hydrocarbon system. I am really excited about being able to use that to make live resins in the future.

What activities do you enjoy in your free time?

Cooking/baking interesting recipes with my fiancé, rock climbing, chilling with my cat, playing Magic, and drinking beers with my buds.
