Sira Spotlight: From Plants to Buds with Lisa Jordan

What is your role?

Processing Manager

How long have you been a part of the Sira Team?

December 13th will be 4 years :)

Why is processing so crucial to Sira's operations?

Processing is crucial to Sira’s operations because at Sira we take pride in putting forth the BEST possible product we can.

What is your favorite aspect of managing the processing process?

I am a multitasker; I love that there are so many moving parts in the Processing department.

What are the key steps involved in processing?

The key steps in processing are Harvest, Drying, De-stem, Curing and Fine Trimming.

What determines how long something is dried for?

The determination for how long something dries for is the amount of moisture that the bud holds - depends on the strain/ batch.

What is your favorite strain to work with?

Blueberry

What do you love most about working in the Cannabis Industry?

I love being able to work with the plant itself. I remember my first day and seeing all of those plants in the flower room. I still feel that same excitement every time I come in.

How has your prior experience influenced your role?

My prior experience has influenced my role by helping me be the best manager I can be. Helping people is my mission, whether it be to help a patient get quality medicine or helping my team members reach their personal goals. 

Any new or upcoming strains currently in the works?

Yes, we are Pheno hunting some Mystery Muffin and Royal Sprinkles presently.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I love going for rides on my motorcycle.
